The Carter G. Woodson Academy Agriculture Program was established in 2019 under the direction of Mr. Jacob Ball and focuses on agriscience and agribusiness. The program provides students, especially those from urban environments, with hands-on learning opportunities that introduce them to the agricultural industry and its many career pathways.
The FFA chapter was formed in June 2020 and has continued to grow, consistently earning Gold Emblem Chapter. One of the chapter’s greatest accomplishments is producing its first State Officer, marking a major milestone for the program.

Great Crossing FFA is the agricultural education organization at Great Crossing High School in Georgetown. Established in 2019, the chapter is part of the National FFA Organization and currently serves 312 members under the leadership of three advisors.
Great Crossing FFA focuses on developing leadership, personal growth, and career readiness through agricultural education, competitive events, and community involvement.

Originally founded as Locust Trace Agriscience Farm in 2011 in Lexington as a Career and Technical school for students interested in Agriculture Education. The school has 6 pathways all dealing with different parts of the Ag Industry. The Pathways are: Food Science, Plant Science, Enviromental Science, Pre-Vet, Equine Sciences, and Ag Mechanics.
Locust Trace gives Students from an urban environments an ability to learn more about Agriculture and all that it entails. Through thoughtful and engaging hands-on activities and learning opportunities.
